To change the program associated with a particular file type, please save the file to your computer and perform the following steps:
Microsoft Windows 7
- Click Start
- Open Control Panel
- Change view by to CATEGORIES
- Select Programs
- Choose Default Programs
- Select Associate a file type or protocol with a program
- Locate the file type or protocol that you want to set default program for
- Select the file type
- Click Change Program in the upper-right
- Choose the desired program (For example, Windows Explorer)
- Click OK
- Click Close
Microsoft Windows 8
- Open the Charm bar by moving cursor to upper-right corner (on touch-screen, swipe in from right edge of screen)
- Click Search
- Type default in the search box
- Choose Default Programs
- Select Associate a file type or protocol with a program
- Locate the file type or protocol that you want to set default program for
- Select the file type
- Click Change Program in the upper-right
- Click More Options
- Click the desired program (For example, Windows Explorer)
- Click Close
Microsoft Windows 10
- Click the Windows Start menu
- Click Settings
- Select System
- Select Default apps
- Select Set defaults by app
- Select the program
- Click on Set this program as default
Other Windows Methods
- Right-click on the file
- Click Properties
- Click Change
- Click the desired program (For example, Windows Explorer)
- Click OK
- Click Apply
- Click OK

Method 1
- Press Control + click on the file
- Select Get Info
- Select Open With
- Select the program required to open the file
- Click Change All
- Click Continue in the Alert window
- Close the window
Method 2
- Press Control + click on the file and release
- Press and hold the Option button
- Select the appropriate program under Always open with...
